AVSil® Silrub 188CH-1 is a heavyweight silicone coated silica fabric engineered for industrial applications requiring a compromise of thermal protection and abrasion resistance properties. The high-performance silicone coating improves the fabric handling properties while improving the fabrics capability to withstand a moderate levels of molten metal exposure.

The superior strength, density, thickness, and weave construction, and high meltpoint (3000°F or 1649°C) of AVSil® Silrub 188CH-1 makes this fabric ideal for close proximity horizontal welding protection. The base fabric will remain pliable after exposure to continuous temperatures up to 1800°F (982°C). AVSil® Silrub 188CH-1 is used extensively in the Power Generation (Nuclear Approved), Refinery, Shipbuilding, Ship Repair and Metal Processing Industries.
