AVSil® 188CH® Fabrication Grade Silica Fabric is a heavyweight high silica content (≥96%) fabric that is engineered to withstand continuous operating temperatures up to 1800°F (982°C) while maintaining flexibility and moderate strength. AVSil® 188CH® Fabrication Grade Silica Fabric has a proprietary surface finish applied to improve the thermal performance and handling properties for the fabrication of textile parts.
The superior strength, weave construction, and high melt point 3000°F (1649°C) of AVSil® 188CH® Fabrication Grade Silica Fabric makes this fabric an excellent choice for hot work operations that consist of heavy to extreme welding (sparks and molten metal splatter) and grinding applications.
AVSil® 188CH® Fabrication Grade Silica Fabric can be fabricated into all types of welding curtains, blankets, or pads.
AVSil® Silica Fabrics are used extensively in the Power Generation (Nuclear Approved), Refinery, Shipbuilding, Ship Repair and Metal Processing Industries.
